Conserving the Rooms & Collection

Unlike a traditional museum collection, the 42 Diplomatic Reception Rooms are used daily to conduct our nation’s diplomacy. Patrons of Diplomacy can designate gifts to support the crucial conservation work required to support the collection. Each year, specific conservation priorities are identified, or Patrons can fund general conservation needs. These gifts are vital to ensuring that the fine and decorative arts continue to support the diplomatic arts.

Contact the Office of Fine Arts to learn how you can become a Patron of Diplomacy and support DRR’s conservation priorities.

Investing in Our Future

Students and members of the public who visit the Diplomatic Reception Rooms are captivated by what they see and want to learn more. Gifts from Patrons of Diplomacy support initiatives that help students understand civic engagement and diplomacy, and that teach students to utilize this knowledge to make a positive impact on their community.

Patrons can support DRR’s online, in-state, and on-site initiatives. All educational programs feature object-based learning, ensuring DRR’s collection inspires the next generation of leaders. All gifts are tax-deductible.

Acquisitions of Fine & Decorative Art

As a Patron of Diplomacy, your gift will further enhance the Diplomatic Reception Rooms’ historical collection by providing funding for the acquisition of remarkable works that would otherwise not be possible. These masterpieces tell important stories of our country’s history and values, and are shared each day with world leaders and foreign dignitaries.

The collection features exceptional works of fine and decorative art including furniture, silver, porcelain and ceramics, paintings, works on paper, and textiles made by master craftsmen and artists. The entire collection was made possible through generous gifts.

Contact the Office of the Curator to learn how you can become a Patron of Diplomacy and help DRR acquire and share masterpieces with the world.
